The name Megropolis1 Productions was first used in 1998, to give the cover of the first Empire Of Glass CD a better look. A website was created and the CD was sold through peoplesound.com, along with 5 others over the following 5 years. Then in 2002, Rob Tizzard pressured himself to attend a drama holiday in the south of France, organised by NextStageDrama, keen to explore some acting and confidence building in the process, as well as a different kind of holiday. It turned out there were just five other students, Richard Foxon, Thomas Hutchinson, James Daniel Noble, Rachel Powell and Jennie Rich. Unusually, this varied collection of people formed a strong friendship with a shared interest in drama, science fiction, and having a laugh as well as this unique experience. The result of this week was also released on VHS and DVD as The Megeve Experiment, in a greatly reduced form. The gang were filmed doing a lot of work including sketches, a ten minute improvised train journey and in 2 groups, a 3 minute play each directed by legendary TV Director, Christopher Barry, known to some as the director of the first even appearance of the Daleks. Then they all returned home, to Essex, London, Cornwall, York, Northampton and Belgium. And you would think that was it, living so far apart and however much people say "Let's keep in touch!", how many do? Rob took the opportunity to brush off an old script, now very inappropriately titled 'Deadly Friends' in the hope he could actually make a film and ensure they did keep in touch. Adapting the script for his new friends it was sent off and everyone... said yes! This was not what Rob was expecting because he would now actually have to make a film, with cameramen, and a RSC director. And so it had begun and in April 2004, Megropolis1 Productions became Limited in name and Unlimited in nature.
